Hi guys here is my most recent project nearing completion. It started life as a plain jane DC3 from ESM. Ive completely sanded down the old finish repaired all areas that needed touching to strengthen it for flight. Ive got it at the stage it is now and just need some red paint for stripe, flat black infront of cockpit windshield, on leading edge and a few coats of clear coat.

What it will look like when finished,

Re: ESM Canadian Coast Guard DC3

I need help with one item though guy's. I want to build a aircraft tug to tow this airplane around at the fieild. I can't find any pictures of a DC3 being pulled around by a tug. I know they had to be pulled around but I dont know by what? If you have any ideas of what the aircraft tug looked like I would love some pictures so i can build a scale version of the tug to move the DC3 around.

Re: ESM Canadian Coast Guard DC3

Back in the 80's when I was learning to fly full size, Transport Canada had a DC-3 based at their hangar right beside the flying school. Memory is somewhat faded but I think the mule/tractor used was the "standard issue" one used at airports across the country at the time. I know, different department, but it's a lead.
