Blade 450 Gyro program setup

I am having a problem setting up my Gyro on my 450 blade.
It does not seem to be working at all, no movement when I move tail side to side. It also spins around once I idle up. The red light is on.

I am flying Futaba 10c. How do I adjust my transmitter to fix this problem?

Thanks

Merkel

Re: Blade 450 Gyro program setup

Need a couple of details while I review the manual:

Is this the G210 gyro? Also, do your rudder inputs affect the tail servo?

Yes the Gyro is the stock G210. When I move my rudder servo it is working and moving in the correct direction. It seems as if the Gyro is not working at all. I have tried adjusting my Gain on transmitter however I'm not sure if I'm inputting settings correctly.

Re: Blade 450 Gyro program setup

O/K. Based on your rudder input having an effect there is power flow through the gyro. Does the red light blink and/or come on solid?

If the light is on and if you have a spare servo plug that into the gain channel on the Rx, (it acts like any other channel so this is an easy test). You should see it swing one way or the other depending on your gain settings.

One way will have the gyro in RATE, where the gyro will ONLY maintain any rate of acceleration it sees during each check frame.

The other will be Heading Hold, where the gyro does internal calculations to try and return the heli to the last orientation when the rudder stick was released.

Both RATE and HH modes start with lowest gain at center, same as if you released one of your sticks. As the gain signal moves away from center either way the gain increases for that mode. If your signal is not shifting away from center the gyro will do nothing to affect the tail.

For this to function correctly your Tx must be in HH mode when the gyro is powered up. Also, your rudder trim must be centered. Normally the gyro will have the light go solid when it initialization is complete. You need to keep the heli static until it is done.

Another factor to check is if you have not inadvertently activated a pitch/tail mix in the Tx. That seems to be a holdover from before gyros were widespread and used the mixing to input a tail pitch change in relation to main rotor pitch to counter the torque.

NOTE: The onboard gain does nothing if the gyro sees a gain signal through that Rx channel. Trying that spare servo will confirm it is actually seeing the gain signal move away from neutral.

So I have tried your method I am getting a red light that flashes once plugged in and then goes solid at static. I plugged a separate servo into the ( what I think is the gain servo the single yellow servo?) on the Rx. It does not move at all once I've reset the battery.
I had this help working anx setup up perfectly and then it seemed to quit.

Any other suggestions? Transmitter settings maybe?.
