Re: Turbine oil...where to buy??

All depends which oil you are looking for ? If DTE LTE then try your Mobil/ESSO distributor. Believe they sell it in 20 litre pails. If you need the part number PM me.

My supply of Aeroshell 500 is done, just looking for more. But brand doesnt matter as long as it does the job. I did have it in quart cans.

Re: Turbine oil...where to buy??

Myles,
Look around the closest airports to you for aircraft maintenance shops or even colleges offering aviation mechanics. Often you can find time expired oil that they will sell you cheap as they can't legally use it even though it's still fine. I have quite a few quarts left over from buying a case of time expired oil for $5 a quart.

Re: Turbine oil...where to buy??

If you can go across the border to pick up I've found these guys really good. Have to buy a case to get a good price but I usually split it up over a few guys and it works out.

Would suggest going with the Mobil DTE and gave Ontario contact, earlier. The synthetic
Full size turbine oil was never really designed for burning , altogether ok for turbines but was never really very good for users lungs. In most cases they will ship to a local point for pickup. Had mine shipped from Edmonton to Kelowna BC , just had to pickup at local bulk station for free shipping and there is not much these days that is free.
Plus is less expensive.

Re: Turbine oil...where to buy??

Well wouldn't ya know. I called NOCO, my heating oil supplier. They actually took over from my local heating supplier in Picton when the owner retired. The NOCO depot is about 6 minutes from where I work in Belleville. They have two pails of DTE light in stock.
I never even thought of them until I realized they are a Mobile dealer....who would thought?
