Hey everyone, I have decided to put up for sale my scratch built (last winter) Ju-88 park flyer. It's a nice looking rare bird in a good size to easily fit into a car. Being a twin, I don't normally take off the wings because of the wiring, but I have tried my best to design the locations of the various components to make as small a pain as possible. For example, the ESCs are mounted inverted in the fuselage on a plywood shelf to limit the number of wires heading out into the wings. Anyway, the story is as follows:

I really enjoy building CNC machines for some reason, so I decided having built a few routers and two laser cutters I wanted to build a CNC foam cutter. So I did. I needed a test subject to cut to see how everything worked and I always wanted to build a large Ju-88 and no kits are available to my knowledge. This plane started as a prototype for the larger one but the first cuts ended up working out so nicely on the new machine that I just had to finish it!

Oh, and the nacelles and cowls are all custom designed and 3D printed so I can provide all the files for those should you choose (or need) to build new ones. By the way, for us scratch builders out there, 3D printing full nacelles and cowls works amazingly!

In the end, this bird flies well, sounds awesome being a twin, and is a cool plane that you rarely see at the flight line. It is in great condition.

What's included:
(2) Plush 30A ESCs
(2) 180w Outrunners (Hobbyking)
(4) 9g Metal Gear Corona Servos
(2) aluminum spinners
* All files for the parts are included too, as much as possible.

Caveats: This plane having been a prototype has a few idiosyncrasies. First, the motors that are mounted have good power for scale flight and sport flying. They are NOT power houses that will take the plane vertical. If that is what you are looking for, then switch them out. Pretty easy to do with the 3D printed mounts that are in there. Second, since the rudder and horizontal stabilizer on the scale Ju-88 is quite small (google some photos) it means that a strong level hand toss is needed to get it tracking straight away from launch. Once at flying speed, no problem, but if you aren't anticipating a tail slide on a weak launch get ready on the rudder to straighten her out. I mixed differential thrust on the motors to my rudder channel for fun and that worked out nicely to control yaw on stall turns and it's cool to see it turn in place!

Priced at the cost of the electronics, you get the plane for free. It's been airbrushed in base colours and is ready for decals and details, weathering etc. I never finished the final paints since it was a prototype. I'm now working on a Sunderland, large Champ, and a scratch designed CL-415 with working scale water bombing capabilities, so it's time to let this go and raise some funds.

I also have photos of the build (foam parts etc) if you are interested in seeing them.

Cheers, and thanks for reading what turned out to be a really long ad!
-Marc

Oh, wingspan is roughly 50". On 3s 2200 batts it pulls 23A currently at full throttle (nice scale cruising speed).
