A great homemade spinner which is lighter than any you can buy:

Start with a disc of thin arborite the size of your spinner with a prop shaft hole in it.

Instal a bolt with nut snugged up tight then stick on a block of Syrofoam, like the kind you find in craft stores for making Christmas decoration, using double sided tape. Chuck it up in your drill press at slow speed and use a rasp then course sand paper to shape the foam. This way you can get a Mustang or Extra shape exactly the way you want it.

Once done, use a rasor blade to release the foam from the disc and carve out a relief for the prop and prop nut.

Once the disc and prop are mounted on the plane remount the spinner.

The foam can be filled with lightweight spackle, sealed with WBPU and painted. I've done up to three inch units this way. Tex.
