Breaking in an engine this weekend

A great day at the field.

Well I put a new monster sized Saito .30 on my test stand with a 14 oz tank of fuel at the field. I only half-filled it though

Anyway the engine started quickly, ran at 3700 rpm w/o glow driver and a bolly 9.5 x 6 prop, quite smoothly and ran like a watch for that tank; a little over 45 minutes . The putt putt sound alone was quite relaxing. I have to pick up some 10x5 props for these guys.

I gotta say, with the low steady idle and smooth run, I'm really pleased with this engine. Next break-in run will be in the plane on the ground, then to the skies.

I have 2 others to break in and I trust they will be just as smooth as this one. Summer is just around the corner

breaking in a saito

I've got a Saito 72 and i broke it in like you did, as per the manual. I find that mine keeps on getting stronger and stronger. You'll love it!
