Hi Terry,
In my Mini Funtana I have an E-flite 400 brushless motor,
a Phoenix 45 amp speed controller and a 3 cell 1900ma lipo.
HS-55 mini servos for the control surfaces.
All works well for me. This weekend is looking good for
some stick time.
Regards, Randy

Hi Randy,

What's your gear ratio, prop, and AUW?

I have the same setup as you, but after 10 flights or so, I find 2/3 throttle is needed to barely maintain hover! Definitely not a rocket ship. Eventually, I'll get a Groove G480 from!

In the meantime, I'm selling my Himax 2025-4200 and dropping in an AXI 2808-24 with 11X5.5 APC-E prop. THEN SHE'LL ROCK!!

I used the system for my Mini Funtana exactly as they recomended

2100 3 cell lipoly Thunderpower
Eflight 400 brushless motor 4200KV
Castle 25 amp brushless esc

Stock gear box 6.6:1 included in kit with a 12X6 prop included in kit

It is unlimited vertical till the cut off. I'm not that good at hovering but it holds at about half throttle.

All up wieght is 23 oz

Okay, thanks. I have the exact same setup, except with Himax 2025-4266. I installed a small wooden LG plate and did some home-made LG strengthening to my CF landing gear.

My AUW is at 26 oz. It's a bit of a pig, and I can definitely feel the weight in the air. I think my motor upgrade will be better!! I'm still eyeing up that Groove though!!

I don't think it could handle the vibration as is with a glow motor.

I use the same stock setup with a Himax 4025, 3 cell 2000 and the supplied 12x6 prop. Tons of power, takes off from grass at about 1/2 throttle and just keeps going up.
