6 mtr ham band

I'm in the process of dusting off my old Heathkit RC equipment and getting into electric flying with a Great Planes Spectra.

It's been quite a number of years since I've flown RC and I'm concerned about the increase in 6 mtr repeaters.

I'm using 53.4 MHz in Victoria and I understand there are repeaters near this frequency close by.

Has anyone experienced any interference in the lower mainland/Vancouver Island area on six meters?

Check this out.

You need a licence to operate that old radio. Try getting a low cost system on the 72mhz band.

Uh..... I think the Victor Eddy number at the bottom of his post is a evidence he has a license.

I'm using a Heathkit GD19 system transmitting on 53.4 MHz. And yes, VE7BDM are my call letters of the Amateur Radio licence which permits me to operate on this frequency for radio control use.

So far, my research has found 6 meter repeaters at:

Port Ludlow Washington on 53.37 MHz
Everett Washington on 53.35 Mz
Olympis Washington on 53.47 MHz
West Vancouver BC on 53.49 Mz

I don't kow whether any of these frequencies are close enough to cause interference on 53.40 MHz or whether my RC transmitter would be strong enough to overcome any repeater interference...
