.40-.50 Silver and Blue DHC 2 in HobbyHobby

Hi,

Just wondering if any of guys from TO/Mississauga/Brampton area have seen this model hanging in Hobby Hobby for consignment sale. I am interested in this model but the fellow selling it is asking way too much for it in my opinion, its very old model (Changed 3-4 hands but not flown)which is painted silver/blue over not covered!, its missing front windshields, all flight controls are loosened up and rudder is cut in wrong shape. Fuel tank is loosely sitting in side the fuselage and there are no holes drilled out for it in the firewall either!(not a big deal), it does come with old wide band Kyousho 4ch radio which i think must be over 25yrs old if not less....

It definately is not in flyable condition as its being offered for sale at $150 CDN. I would like to know how much should an airframe in this rough condition should be....any advices...

I bought a biplane in HobbyHobby last year that was on consignment and asked if they could cll the guy and offer him I thin it was $50 less the asking price. He said sure.

So since no one can really see the plane and it's condition (unless you have seen it at HobbyHobby), I would just offer what you are willing to spend on the plane.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Often times when your are dealing with consignment items, the store has its hands tied. They have agreed to bring in an item and attempt to sell it at the price the owner of the item wants. When the item hangs there for a while the store wants to sell it just as much you want to buy it. However if the store has been told they can not sell it for less than $.** then thats what they have to sell it for. Some people have very high expectations for the items they want to sell. Most of the time if the items owner wants a price that is way out of wack, then the store will not take the consignment on. Unfortunately you may have run into this exact situation.

The Hangar 9 Cap232 looks very nice.. I think it's still there, should be a nice flying plane.
