A Great day for RC Canada!

RC Canada is now, to my knowledge, the most "Eclectic" site of it's kind.

I often envy those who are fulfilled by mastering one or two aspects of the hobby and revel in their achievements. I love everything that flies and floats and will likely never master anything. I welcome this addition to RC Canada and thank our host Jason for including these topics to the forum as these types of models paved the way to Radio Control.

Hey I still try and fly CL (not too much time unfortunately for that anymore) when I can, I have a few CL planes hanging in the shop RTF... Used to do it more often a few years back when I had someone to go with and wasnt so busy with RC and work.

CL is a heck of a lot of fun, and a great thrill.... to the RC'rs that have not tried it, and think it would be boring, I challange you to try a cl model at least once. You never get more than 60 feet off the deck and you cannot climb to relax and putt around - once the engine is going you are committed to a whole flight whether you want to or not!

C/L and F/F

At long last!

Both these disciplines have a great deal to add to this hobby. I have watched the progress of r/c from the early tube radios (radio? sure. control? sometimes...) to todays inexpensive, incredibly reliable, amazingly light, systems. Most of that time, I built, flew, and taught c/l and f/f, but eventually added r/c without abandoning the other two (still doing both, but c/l is more difficult now). I use freeflight methods to build and finish my r/c models; much lighter, much more realistic. Any kid looking to get into model building and flying is shown c/l first: simple, cheap, and satisfies the 3 main drives for a teen boy, noise, speed, smoke. Works every time.

Okay, let's go!
