I have several 133's and 132's Futaba servo's and I thought I would ask on here what small receiver I could use for a small system? Andrew got my interest going on the Mig ducted fan.

I am having great luck with the little 610 JR mini receiver and the small 5/6 channel Expert (thats the one I have in my Mig).

I have not tried one of the single conversion GWS or Hitec's as I want to fly with other planes at our club. Both the JR 610 and the Expert are as good as any other standard size receiver in terms of signal rejection and range.

I have not tried (or seen up close) the Hitec Electron, but it looks as small (less than one ounce) as the other two and its also dual conversion. I want to try one. Its definitely smaller than the Hitec 555 (which is also very good but a little bigger).

if its got a wing or two and an engine - I like it!

It seems from the instructions and discussions that any sub 1 oz Rx should work. However, this is one of those applications where less is more so most of the Rxs on Andrew's list are good. If you need a new Rx for this application take a look at the shadow receivers from Sombra labs in Ottawa. Blows everything else away but not the cheapest one on the market (still $100 to $120 is about middle of the road). Seven channels, dual conversion and 8 grams (about 1/4 oz)! Since I will need a new receiver if and when I get one of these MiGs I will probably go with one of these. Further down this discussion group you should find links.
