I am looking for a copy of the plans for the Deception by Great Planes Made around 1982. I have the kit but no plans. Are the plans in M.A.N. Sept.1978 safe to build on? art songal songal@sympatico.ca

Arthur: An old timer here. I actually built a Deception in 1979 from the plans in the Sept. 78 issue of M.A.N. I'm assuming we're talking about the Jim Kimbro Deception. Many years and model airplanes have passed by, and if memory serves me right, I remember this as being a very stable platform. I was flying it with a Cirrus 4 channel radio (no retracts) and an O.S. 60 FSR with a stock muffler. So I would say based on my own experience that if you can't get your hands on an original set of plans, go with an enlargement of the MAN drawings. By the way, what powerplant did you have in mind for this thing?
