backyard RC track/duratrax upgrade

I am building an RC track in my backyard for my new Duratrax Evader ST RTR . I am wondering what the length of the jumps should be? The track is about 4 1/2 feed wide.

Another question

What should the first upgrade be for my truck? : : :

Build the jumps as high as you can. Upgrade whatever breaks first!! If you spend too much on parts, shave a bit off the tops of the jumps!

Edit: All kidding aside, The jumps really can be pretty high! The track we run on has mere 2 foot kickers, but many tracks are built on a much larger scale then that! Most people upgrade things like A-arms or drive shafts, add ball bearings and better electronics or motors. But your Evader comes with a lot of "hop ups" out of the box dosen't it? Graphite arms and chasis, modified motor and electronic speed control?

I'd say run that little thing into the ground until she won't run anymore, and upgrade the parts as you break 'em. Tuning can be fun and all, but what's the sense of having an off road high performance stadium truck that's so pretty you don't want to risk marking her up!?
