My first scale event ever entered and will not be my last.
Even tho it was seven million miles away and travelling in the dark of night ,it took my fearless driver a short 7 hours to get there.
The hospitality of Gaston and his wife Ann Maria was great. We felt like we were family and very welcome.
The new field (2 years) is an example of how people with a vision and drive can accomplish great things.
My hat's off to Gaston and Louis.and fellow members.
I was able to put faces and personalities to so many names that I have read on forums and the MAAC mag.
That's 50% of the membership in this hobby;maybe more than.
After crashing a small test plane and shaking so nervously I flew my first routine with my scale plane. I took off did some moves landed and that made my day..
Aside from flying my slow bipe at supersonic speeds I felt I did the routines moderately.
I will practice at 1/3 less speed till the nats.
Steve Daly and I called for each other.
Thanks Steve , my nerves calmed down real good with your calm calling.
I will learn to differentiate between a lazy 8 and a flat 8 for the future if you should let me call for you.
Again ;Thankyou all for the pleasure

Remember its guys like YOU also that made the event worth ot for everyone. You and Dennis travelled a long way to support the event and it was mighty nice to hang out, go for dinner and of course chat and fly with you.

Yeah and isn't nice to be invited to another club's event and not be RIDICULED and LAUGHED at by the event organizers like a recent previous event.
It's great to see you had fun at this one though....
You know what I mean eh Andrew. I feel sorry it had to happen to nice guy like Andrew.
