Built my first battery pack

Well I did it. I built my first set of packs today Probably my last too. I take my hat off to those who venture in this sport of electronics. I toasted one cell with my soldering iron. I used a 100 watt iron but must have overheated a cell as I am getting a reading of 3.9 volts on my receiver pack and one cell reads 0.3 volts. My transmitter pack works fine. I have a reading of 10.7 volts I think it was. That was until I accidently pulled the plastic plug off 10.7 volts really does a smoking job on your fingers when you short the wires out between your thumb and index finger I was able to test it again (after the ozonal took affect) and I still get the same reading. Can someone tell me what wire goes in what hole 1, 2 or 3 for an Airtronics transmitter pack?

Can someone also tell my why I did this other than to save money

I tried flying electric but the cord kept coming unplugged!

100W iron? Wow. We use 40W with a hammer head tip when making sub-C packs. Each connection can be made with heat applied for only about a second.
