parts needed Saito 80

I have an older Saito 80 4 stroke. used to run like a fine tuned watch. I am still verymuch in love with this engine and it now resides in my EAA Biplane at the moment.
On our last few flights together, the engine started to make a weird sound. I tested everything and went again, only this time it worsened and the noise was louder. specially at near idle.
Decided to take apart, like many of us, only to find out that i need new bearings.

Can anyone tell me where i could find bearings, gaskets (Cyl) and timing cover gaskets, and connecting rod bushings.
I would really much like to put this little engine together again, soon.

once again, thank you for your input guys.

I an sure you can contact horizon hobby for the parts. Great hobbies may even get them in for you. If all this fails I know a fellow who collects / restores/ buys / sells saito 4 stroke engines. He resides in arizona and has many saito 4 strokes in good running or rebuilt condition.
Two possibilities
1. You could probably trade him your wore out saito for a fresh one
2. he couls sell parts, or inform you where to get them.

If you are interested PM me and I will find his contact info.
Awww crap my rudder fell off.

Hello; I would cut new gaskets out of newsprint, and buy the bearings at a local bearing supplier. I am sure that great hobbies would love to sell you the Saito parts.

I have two Saito 80's which I like a lot, one in a Bingo 60 on floats, the other in a Goldberg Chipmunk, I changed the bearings in the Bingo one in May. The other one got new bearings in '95. Bothe engines run perfectly.

Do not get the actual replacement Saito bearings, i usually get bearings when i need them from BC Bearing, ask for a high quality, high speed bearing. I think the bearings that Saito puts in thier engines could be better quality as i've gone through 2 sets of Saito bearings in my 80, within the first 4 years after owning it new, the last set from BC Bearing that are still in the engine and have been in it now for 11 yrs without using after run oil after every flight. I do use fuel now that i mix up myself that has 20% oil with 20% being castor oil.

You need an R6Z for the front and a MR6902 for the rear.....I have Boca bearings in these sizes if you're stuck.

You can check Toronto Bearing, they have offices in TO, Newmarket and Brampton. Or you can try Canada Bearing I beleive they're in Mississauga. All you need is to bring in the bearings for them to match up.

Saito rebuild

Having just researched and replaced the crankshaft in my Saito 150 - the literature I've read indicates the gasket thickness for the cam shaft housing to be "critical" in setting the mesh of the camshaft to the crankshaft

just a caution if you plan to cut your own gaskets.
