Ringmonster on Ether

Full-size Ringmonster. I built it from the kit, covered it in light silkspan, minimal finish (1 coat filler, 3 coats clear, colour dope for trim only), single-wheel gear.

PAW 19 had lots of power to run 10-4 or 10-6 prop. Tin tank with usual venting (no mods), but 1/2 the size that you would use for a 35.

This was built for just-for-fun sport flying; I didn't own a stopwatch, so have no idea of lap times. On the shorter lines it would fly in some fairly brisk winds, and once it was up you could windfly until your arm got tired or you got bored.

I must have run that thing for 10 years, sold it (or likely gave it) to a kid minus the engine (still got that). I know he flew it for awhile, lost track when I left town.

The greatest part of models like that is the diesel is quiet, you don't need as big an area to fly, and the shorter lines really allow some interesting manoevers that aren't always possible on 60' or longer lines.

Fun, fun, fun!!
