The rods I should have mentioned was that I sand them where I CA them. Gives a bit of a bite for the glue to hold. I mentioned this as if you are building light for small AC and are trying to keep all the weight off.
I also use a lot of GOOP from way back. Best darn stuff for gluing to fiberglass fuzes. All my F1's had the servo mounts installed with the stuff and besides holding it also absorbs some of the vibration and shock.
While at Indus to watch some racing (rained) while talking with some of the guy's I purchased some carbon pushrods they had. A little over and 1/8" which you can thread 4-40 pushrods in. That was the large size and there where 2 smaller sizes. This new high tech stuff is sure nice as it is stiff and light.
