Cheap wind sock and mast?

Anyone got any ideas for a cheap windsock and mast? My creativity went on vacation and forgot to return.

The Flag pole can be as simple as a piece of pipe tied to a fence post

Go and visit your local welding shop and buy;
2 pcs 2" x 6' 'C' channel - base
2 ea 1/4" bolts w/ washers and lock nuts - pivot and locking bolt
1 ea 1.5" - 2" heavy wall pipe, 15 - 20' long (your choice)

The 'C' channel can be welded to allow the appropriate width between them or you can "plant " them to suit.

Drill matching holes in the C Channel pieces and the pipe (2 holes per piece) be sure that the holes line up.

Drill a hole in the top of the pole to attach the wind sock, secure the fastening device.

Dig a hole 4' deep, plant the C channel for the base (2-3' left above ground), align the top base hole and the top hole of the pole, place a bolt through the top holes (3 in line), loosely fasten with the lock nut. Swing the pole upright and secure in place with the second bolt.

Congratulations you now have a folding flag pole!
Life is either a daring adventure...
...or nothing.
