How to remove old CA hinges on rudder?

I recently put my Sig Four Star 40 into a wheat field. Damage is fixable (and I am currently in the process of fixing it). The only control surface that was damaged was the rudder.

I have made a new rudder and just need to cover it and install it now, but I was wondering how to remove the old CA hinges from the vertical stab so I can use the same slots? I have tried debonder, but it will not wick into the slot.

do I have to cut new slots or does someone have a tip to remove the old hinges?

It isnt worth digging them out.One slip and you will have a damaged fin.
Cut em off flush, leave em there and use new ones........IMO.

Kevin is correct. The only way to remove the old hinges is to dig them out- time consuming and you have to be very careful not to ruin the fin. (Learned from experience.) It will be WAY quicker and less frustrating, as well as probably stronger, to simply re-hinge.
