Futaba Crystal in Hitec Eclipse???

I have a Futaba Super 7. I was wondering if the frequency module could be used in the Eclipse? Has anyone tried to install a crystal module from a Futaba transmitter into a Hitec Eclipse transmitter. It seems like it might fit. Does it work? Any problems?

No Sir, I do not think it will work. As I understand it, the crystals from different manufacturers oscillate differently, even if they are the same frequency. So you could end up transmitting wierd signals that could even bring down other peoples aircraft.

I tried something similar swapping Hitec with JR.
It appeared to work, and even give me ae excellent range check (over 150 ft) on all throttle settings, but after a while funny things began to happen. It was as though my plane had a fever, cos it was shivering all over.

I noticed that it did this when another flyer on my freq band (35 Mhz; in Saudi we use both 72 and 35 Mhz bands) had his radio on at the same time as mine. My thinking is that the signal from his radio somehow combined with my corrupt signal and caused the sever glitching. I do not have any scientific explanation for this but this is what I observed.
