Building Plans this winter

Summer is for flying and winter for building IMO,and since building is a pleasure for me ,each year about this time I start getting the itch.

Let me be the one to start the usual thread we see each year and outline my build list for 05/06
In no particular priority:

Build two new semi symetrical wings for my 84" Lazy Ace with an aileron in each panel..........
Or sell the Ace and build a new one.

Finish my 1/6 scale Beech D18

Build a new wing for my 30% Staudacher IMAC plane and re-finish the fuse.Learn how much altitude I need for spins with a model this size.

Add the details the judges told me about at the Nats to my 1/3 Spacewalker and do some refinishing and add a new LG.

Finish my 90" flying boat project.

Continue building my 1/3 scale Jungmeister project.

Rebuild the floats for my 1/3 Taube

Do I think I will get all this done : !

Not bloody likely

The Planet is doing what it has always done.......floods,volcanic eruptions storms,
earthquakes.........but today there are more people in the way.

Number 1: Clean shop. This task is not to be underestimated. 5 Months of neglect. Got to get rid of the black widows. Really.

Number 2: Final assembly, paint, and install radio/engine into my .60 size Jemco P-47 Jug. Can't wait. Its been 10 years so far.

Number 3: Finish my 1/4 scale Bridi Rearwin speedster. Tail feathers and wings already framed, fuse sides ready to be joined.

Number 4: Finish putting a new wing and engine on my scratch-designed Mig/Lagg 3 .40 size control liner.

It could happen...

Oh, dear, where to start? I still haven't test-flown all the models I built LAST winter!! Lotsa wind this year...

I really have to try some rubber-powered foam scale models; the stuff that the Brits are turning out taxes the imagination.

I have plans on the board for an electric AW27 that keep staring back at me, as well as an HP42 for electric.

Still trying to get SOME kind of activity going for the MAAC Beginners Committee, very frustrating, I guess I'm going in the wrong direction regardless of all the support I get from the Executive.

Add to that, I have hundreds of old plans for stuff I want to build...

Not necessarily in that order.

ALL my birds are OK, this year...That means i have to pick a NNEEWW PPRROOJJEECCTT...model to build. It has to be 1/4 scale. It has to fly ok on a 25cc gas conversion engine. AND it has to look scale... I'll have to look into this...

Like all of you, there are several projects, but only one I really want to 1/5th scale Harvard, but I need to make room, i.e. finish one or two others. Then there's the problem" "Where in hell do I put them all?"

Here are my projects slated for this winter (subject to change depending on whim/lunar cycles ).

1. Finish building the shed I started in early July. I have to have somewhere to store the new motorcycle (Suzuki Bandit 600) that I bought in June.

2. Finish the SIG Ultimate profile bipe that I started LAST winter! Just about ready to start covering.

3. Repair my Unionville 6' Otter that I crashed last summer.

4. Build the Pica Spitfire (65") kit that I have squirrelled away. I sold my old Spitfire and miss having one in the hangar.

5. Start work on the IMP Hurricane that I got here on RC Canada.

Will it all get done? Yeah right!

Didn't get much done with family prorities and move last year so the list is pretty well the same.

I did manage to pick up some new plans, and some new kits to add to the collection but, I really have to concentrate on getting that Waco finished.... it's getting embarrassing to put it on the list every year.

I actually started on the Beech plans again, since I finally found/unpacked the mock-up templates I made 3 years ago (has it really been that long!!??).

ps. Good news! Looking forward to the maiden flight Ted/noin.
