Well I finaly did it.

I bought a flying chicken. Alough rather expensive at the better part of a 100$ after postage. It well worth it as my three year old daughter just loves it.

For power I chose a Typhoon outrunner. A T6/3D. And have been using a new brand of controler. An Assan 18 amp controler. THe controler works well and can be programed via a PC cable. Battery power is via ELE Super Diamond 3S1P 1550 mah 20C constant. 25C burst. THough this output comes at a high weight penalty. THe pack weighs 130 grams. I beleve my Apoggee 1500 3S1P 10c weighed around 100 grams.

I used my dremil and a cut off blade to make a grove inside the "Beak" to hold my outrunners mounting plate. Unfortunately the motor wires portrude from out of the beak. No other way to do it as far as I could see. The instructions show really big servos. I just used HS55's and they work fine. Its kinda funny. The srvos fit in the little pockets intended for extra servo wire. And the extra servo wire sittis in the pockets intended for the huge servos. I had quite long wires as these servos were salvage from the hole in the ground were my BV 212 disapered into. Anyways. I added a piece of balsa to the inside of te head to form a better battery box. I substituted foam instead of 1/64 ply for the wing tips/feathers. And balsa for the "comb" on the chickens head. Otherwise stock. Have not even painted it yet. Wil try and get some vid for ya all soon.
