I have just finished my first trainer airplane, but have come into a problem with mounting the engine. The mounting holes on the engine are narrower than the holes on the brackets. I have heard that i will need to drill new ones so they line up, but were is the best place to have it? near the back?, front?, or does it matter?

Mounting the engine

If this was an arf kit they should have given you 2 short steel bar about 1 1/2" long. These go on top of the rails of the engine to hold it down. This makes the engine moveable for adjustments to position. Also when ounting the engine change the nuts to the ones with nylon inserts. The supplied ones tend to vibrate loose.
