I'm sure that we could get at least 6-7 guys from Calgary interested in an IMAC competition. The issue is always momentum - it takes someone with lots of initiative and time to get things moving. That is not me at present. Also getting some experienced pilots/judges to attend would take some doing.
I initially thought I would travel to Spokane or the Seattle area to try it out, and I still might this summer if I can manage the logistics. The IMAC season starts before the snow has melted up here unfortunately.
I've only been flying for 4 years and I've never entered a contest, so I bought a .90-sized pattern plane that I may take to a few local competitions. As far as improving my skills I think this will give me the most mileage for now.
Most of the giant scale guys fly at the Stampede City RC club - I'll talk to them and see if they have any plans.
