The leading edge of the stab is going on right now. There is a little bit of a bow in the trailing edge, the plywood piece, so I am trying to get the stab all squared up and reinforced before the trailing edge goes on. I dont want a crooked elevator It reall helps laying the parts out on the full size plans - you can check to make sure everything lines up before you put the glue on

I have been using the Robart hinges in alot of smaller stuff (King Kobra, Eagle II) and I like them. They come in a variety of sizes, and I think alot of the guy's use them in their large models. You may need to add material on the inside of the TE to accept the hinges (hard balsa, or maybe a soft wood). Others may be able to comment with more confidence though

Well it will be a while before I get the flaps on so I have time to figure out the hinges.

I am having a bit of trouble getting the stab all squared up, Ill stop here for tonight and come back to it with a fresh head. My eyelids are getting VERY heavy

Come on are a young pup! You should have at least 3 or 4 more good hours in you tonight!

Go with large Robart hinge points for all your surfaces. Easy to install and they are kinda scale like for a Super Duper Spam Can.
