4 stroke engine exhaust extension

Has anyone tried putting the clear vinyl tube on the end of their 4 stroke engines to extend the exhaust away from the plane ?
Will the fuel eat the vinyl tube ?
Will the heat from the muffler melt the vinyl tube ?

What is the best thing to use for this purpose ?

Use silicon tubing.
Exhaust length is not critical on a 4-stroke the way it is on a 2-stroke, so you can make it the length required to do the job.
I wouldn't use vinyl, it will probably melt.

the vynil tube will melt for sure. i've done this for a boat, and doesnt work.same thing with vynil tube reinforced with mesh.

the only solution is silicone tubing.

4 stroke eng; exhaust extension

In the uk mick reeves models sells "bendy pipe" which will go on the exhaust . Could send for some of that , good stuff. However for a similar thing although not as flexible I use electric "bx cable " the outside part . it is made from alum; ,
there are a few different sizes , , go to electric supply shop . When you first use it you will see it leeks exhaust from around the seams , but it soon will clog up . A 3" length will bend some 1-1/2 " out of line . If the diam; of pipe is bigger than the outlet on muffler make a reducer to fit between the muffler end & the cable piece .
