Jack Stafford models are arguably some of the finest true scale designs to be had.
See WWW.jsmodels.com
What looks like a new field for them is a short kit they are now advertising for a 50% Smith Mini Plane bipe, which because the real one is so small comes out to 102" wingspan with power from 100 to 150cc.
Advertised price for the short kit is US$340 which it appears only gets you the cowl, welded wire gear, the plans, and instructions with photos, but maybe I misunderstood since this appears rather expensive.
No matter ,this could be a scale project of a lifetime for the right modeller and spectacular in the air no doubt.........wish this was around before I started my twin Beech project.

That price sounds right. A FG cowl for the 44% Pitts from Cactus Aviation is $275 US and the wheel pants are $75 US each. The Smith Miniplane is an undermodeled subject for sure. As far as I know there is just the Sig kit and two builders plans about 64" and 88".

I would like to see the Baby Great Lakes in model form, but have never seen a plan or a kit.

88" Smith Miniplane

88" Miniplane plans are frequently on ebay and being sold by the rightful owner of the designs. Top quality plans. I've bought several of his designs.
