Warped Aileron.

I just noticed that a plane I received has a slight warp in one of the ailerons(the outboard side sits lightly lower that the inboard side). There is a little better than 1/16 of an inch difference. The aileron on the other side of the wing is good. Is there a way of correcting this, or should I be thinking about trying to replace the aileron. I don't really want to try to cut the hinges out and redo them unless I have to. It is on a 40 size piper cub.

Thanks for your help

If their is covering on the aileron, then take a heat gun, and heat it. Then twist it into the right shape and let it cool. You may find that the covering has just tightened too much and caused it to warp. Give it a shot. It may work.

Thanks for the advice. It worked like a dream. I have staightened wings like that but never thought to try it on the aileron. I've never had one warped.
