I have a MVVS 26cc installed in a Balsa Nova 120. It has a tuned pipe and turns an APC 18-8 @ 8000 rpm. It is enough power to pull the 13 + lb. plane around pretty good, almost unlimited vert. but not quite. I have never run it with just a muffler but I understand they lose quite a bit of power. A 12 oz. tank will give me at least 10 - 12 mins. in the air.

The engine starts very easily after a good choking and will idle all day at 1600 rpm and has never quit on me, I tried a wooden prop on it and found it would not start nearly as easy or idle as well as the heavier APC. The only problems I had were that for some reason my crank and piston were rubbing on the back plate and covering my plane with black goo, after some surgurey on the back plate the black goo ALMOST stopped. I have been in touch with some other owners who had the same black goo problem and they told me they cured it by moving AWAY from synthetic oil - I am going to try this next summer. ALL in all I would give it a 9 out of 10 - at least when using a tuned pipe.

Hope this helps............ Don
