I,ve been doing this for years and in my humble opinion the reason guys quit is because they can not stand the carnage. No matter how slow you go they will still break. NO GUTS NO GLORY!!! BUILD OUT OF CORRO PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE GOING TO FLY COMBAT. Cost of a corro wing let me see hummmmm One sheet of 4x8 2mill corro 12 dollars 6 to 8 wings per sheet Less than 2 bucks a wing total time to build a wing 1 hour. How is that for cheap no paint or covering to bother with. No templates or hot wire cutting involed. cut your shape fold glue your done it is that simple and oh did I mention that their toufffffffffffff Double fold the leading edge put a5/16 hardwood dowel on it and go slice up some foamies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for using only os la 15's guys you are doing your self a discredit. Lots of guys have been doing this for years and have old 15's lying around and would probably give it a go but wont buy a new engine to try it, and if it is only for fun why not let them try it with some thing they already own.
Combat is not for every one it takes special people. CRAZY PEOPLE IN FACT. It takes time to get over that feeling of giving a damn about our little toy plane. But make no mistake once you do you will never give up the adrenalin rush you get form doing this. Be it fast or slow. If you guys are CRAZY enough to come up and fly at Cobble Hills I will build fly crash with you, We got the nicest heated club house arround and the burgers are always flippin.
I will give you a demo on how to build a corro plane in no time flat and once you can build it fast you will not care about the ineviatable crash that follows.
Green side is definitely not up
