Had to be taking off, no one (in their right mind) would land with full throttle!

Ron is right on the money.

Too much throttle to be landing and no attempt to throttle down.

Runnig out of room to take off and trying to fly before he has enough air speed or overloaded maybe.

He was taking off... looks like his plane sat on a reservoir for too long while the water level went down thereby shortening his runway... My guess is that he didnt realize how much shorter his takeoff distance was.

trouble

Ya I thought of that too... as a pilot I cant see why he would even attempt to turn and continue taking off... especially such a sharp turn.... like you say why throttle down AFTER the turn if you know you are not going to make it straight out.... proper proceedure would be to shut down engines BEFORE running out of runway... At first I thought that this was a yahoo pilot not actually landing or taking off but was actually flying the plane ... did a touch down (sort of high speed landing) and was trying to lift off again in the turn... hence the video waiting for him so perfectly.......... who knows... whatever te reason... I thinks that its a VERY BAD pilot

The way i see it could be both ways , he could be landing and dident figured out shortness and in temptation to land and then dident thought about cutting the engines!, or he could be trying to short take off and dident realised he would very soon run out of stright length and had to make sudden high speed turn, then in turn he lost total directional control and plane took over pilot's control when he probebly dident cut the throttle and it ended up in distroying the aircraft!!!...its total pilot's fault either way....

Floatplane

I think he was attempting to use the plane like a speed boat.
He just lost it in the turn!!
