Tube ID very close to the antenna OD is the easiest to install....the larger the tube the more difficult it becomes. You have to prevent the antenna from helixing during installation. With a small tube you should be able to push a full length antenna into it without a lot of grief.
I find the "antenna tube" that is supplied for this purpose is just a hair too small.
That would pose a bit of a problem

Where is the prefered loation to run the antenna tube?
I'm trying to run the tube far enough away from the rudder pull-pul, but stay inside the fuse of my 30% Edge

any suggestions?
I have found that I'm still getting some interference so I am relocating all my batteries, receiver away from the Electronic ignition parts - so where should I run the antenna

As you said, furthest from components radiating rf.

Of course this will be different depending on the aircraft and installation. Since I don't own a 40% edge, I won't comment other than to say the aft end of the fueslage is a common target but, this is complicated by aircraft with servos installed in the tail.... what about the turtledeck? This should be quite free of equipment and pull-pull cables....

Hi Craig
If you are concerned about interference, the link below get you to a great hobby place for giant scale that sells a kevlar pull-pull made just for the purpose.

I usually "suck" fine dental floss through the tube then tie it to the antenna.

I try to run mine as high as possible in the turtle-deck.
