I'll be there just repaired a coro wing. I spliced a new wing tip on the existing wing. A easy fix.

WW1 Weights

Hi Dan,

My Spad VII weighs 4.5lbs
42in span
wingloading is 16.7oz/sq.ft.
wing thickness is 5/8th in.

My next WW2 Biplane will be scaled to 44-46in. span and 7/8in. thickness.

I started with an old K&B.20 swinging a 10-2APC around 12.5K. It didn't like being cowled and overheated...

I switched to an old(used in my WW2's) Mag Pro.25 which swings the 10-3 up to 13.5K but I run it on the rich side around 12.5K This engine has probably had 2 gals. of combat heats and used to swing a MA9-4 at 14.5K new.

Max. speed I got was 48mph (shallow dive) on Bent's radar gun.

Switching from wheels to skiis will add an extra 3oz... Its gonna take more jury rigging than I thought...

Take care,
Have fun,
Maac 6437
