Found a solution, Thanks guys.
Hi guys, going to start building my Hanger 9 Funtana 90. What would be the best servos to use and engine. I am trying to decide between the new Saito 125 GK or the OS 160 FX what do you think. I will be using a Futaba 7CAP FM radio.

Either engine would be great, the 125 should give you great performance, if its comparable to the YS110 then it would be light and very nice. The 1.6 is crazy power with some sacrifice to wingloading with the weight. Have you considered the new OS 120AX?? I think that engine would ROCK on this plane.
I had a YS120, that when tuned was great and I also had the OS 1.6. I have also flown one with a Saito 100 and YS110. My top pick would be the 110, then the 1.6, 1.2 followed by the 100. Servos, go with 80+oz minimum and Metal geared. Something like HS 645's, or maybe the new JR sport servos. If you have the budget, 5625's would probably be great. I don't know any Futaba or JR servo numbers so I can't help you on those brands. Good Luck!! |

Hi, yes I did consider the OS 120 AX but after looking at the prices the 120 at $270.00 plus and the 160 at $320.00 I figured the 160 would be the better deal and I actually have a complete tune pipe for the 160. But if the 160 is going to make the plane to heavy for nice gliding I would sooner go with a lighter engine. WOW servos aren't cheap, I think the HS 645 MG's will do just fine.

I would find the lightest motor that will give you 2:1 or more thrust to weight. It's all about the wingloading.

I found a brand new plane already equiped with the best radio equipment but less the engine,so I am going to try it first with my Rossi 67 Long stroke and piped to see how it works before going to a bigger engine, and I will keep my kit for spare parts.
