Hey guys,

I just ordered from great hobbies a yak-55 from gp and will be running a himax 2015-41 on it with a 11x4.7 prop on it.
Does anyone have this setup?
If so how does it perform?

Same set up I run, except I prefer a 1047 prop. That requires a little more throttle which gives a little better prop blast IMHO. It can be tricky to get the CofG forward enough - so go super light in the tail (hs 50"s) and a bigger bat up front helps.

She's a real fine outdoor flyer. All pattern stuff is easy. 3D is not too bad, hovers good but the harrier can be tricky. Has a real snappy tendancy at high A, so stay on the power. That snappy habit makes it a little tough to fly indoors - unless its a real big area.

My cowl is now just about toast. Not GP's fault though, make sure you attach it well but not too well. Trying t get it offf to change motors the first time casued a lot of tearing. Then not putting it on real good the second time caused the prop to chew it to bits on every landing.

Other than that its a good airplane. The flexability is not noticeable in flight but sure helps with low level 3D confidence. Do NOT store it for prolonged periods with any bend in the fuse - its a bugger to get out. I hang mine from the rudder straight down to keep it straight.
