You can avoid brokerage fees with Useless Parcel Service if you pay for the 2 day or over night delivery.

You must check firt though to see if it's worth going that route. Someines regualar rates + brokerage work out to less. Other times, the accelerated service is a better deal.

As for Dell, they and Useless are about on par. Never again for either, if possible.

Good luck if you choose to subject yourself to their abuse.

Glad to see I'm not the only poor sucker. My Son wanted some money for Xmas to put towards a new computer. I gave him $500.00 with the stipulation that he buy something other than Dell or I would write him out of the Will. He bought a Toshiba I think

Better to do what I do. Just picked up 5 LIPOS ,flight pack, etc, etc that were shipped to Oroville WA from 2 different suppliers. Enjoyed the sunny drive into WA and am now parked in East Wenatchee in a hotel with good wireless service. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny again and warmer than at home so I'll enjoy another day. Visit some friends, some hobby shops and then after 48 hours + head back to Canada with my loot.

Good savings, mini vacation........

Oh yeah I shipped something to Ohio for $12 from Wa instead of $25 from BC. I'm not sure why Canada post charges more than double to get things into the US in some cases. I guess because the USPS doesn't charge the $5 fee so we pay it.

Igloolik?!?! YIKES! I've flown over Igloolik a couple of time doing Northern Patrols... staging out of of Frobisher... (pardon me... Iqualuit) and Yellowknife... we would fly low over the town, waggle the wings and keep going...

As for Post Office boxes.. LUXURY! SHEER LUXURY!... the place I grew up was "General Delivery"... you went down to what passed for the corner store(gas station, hardware store, general store, grocery store and Post Office), stuck your head through through the hole in the wall and asked if there was any mail...
Kill power on... doors coming open... wings level...clear to drop...

There are still places where this is the norm today. We also had a party line radio phone untill 2 years ago. We dident even have a civic address, sure there was a land use permit# with a bunch of long #'s on it, so when people wanted to know where we were........"15 miles north of the junction, you cant miss us." They wouldent put that on a drivers license, go figure!

Many places wouldent ship stuff cause the shipping addy was different than my credit card one. Good security measure i suppose......
