After re reading this post, some of you guys really have to re examine what you have said and re read our constitution.None of us are above it and nit would appear that when decissions don't go your way,you don't respect the decission nor the guys that made it.Our elected zone directors.
If there is no respect, then there is no organization and our hobby looses big time.In most organizations, this kind of behaviour would see you removed.
It's time for some of you to beging to acting as gentleman.I for one find it difficult to respect those of you acting this way.

I'm with you, Ian, word for word. Back to my original post, we always have the knucklebones out there, always ready to criticise, never on the ballot...

Let's hope the new BoD does as so many previous ones have done. Keep MAAC as an organization running "smoothly", ensuring we have and keep our frequencies, providing insurance, and uniting the modelers of Canada from coast to coast. There is much more that they are responsible for, and the afore mentioned items are not more important than anyhting else they do!

I never realised the importance of frequencies until very recently. In the states, as a result of 9/11, they have commandeered a frequency in use in 90% of the garage door operators in NA. They have these towers that effectively lock out that frequency (I think it's 318 Mhz or so). The towers have a blanket effect over 100 mile radius from the tower. The towers can be located anywhere that the Americans have jurisdiction, and they don't disclose this information. Apparently, they recently installed on at the US embassy in Ottawa. they turned it on for a couple days to test it out, and every garge door remote on this frequency quit working. The manufacturers lobbied the powers that be to choose a different frequency, but they would not.

I started thinking as the rep was telling us this about our hobby. What if, for some reason, 72Mhz was better for them? I know I'd be screwed, at least for a time.

Good luck to everyone that has, is, or will be involved with the executive of MAAC. Mistakes may be made, but if it's accounted for and not covered up, all is good!
