How does it work?

Being new to RC Canada I am still feeling my way around in the dark. I see a Heading "General Discussion". Someone starts a thought process in the form of a new topic yet when someone else adds to the discussion he can be accused of hijacking the topic. I thought it was a discussion as the whole forum concept and yes, the heading imply, and not a "Do what I say" or "Think what I think or get lost" forum.

Maybe RC Canada needs a "Closed minded catagory" whereby no one can add free and honest opinion or ideas to an expressed idea. Maybe it could be called "The last word"

Please feel free to respond. "I" welcome and value the objective and well thought out and organized opinions of others, even if they differ from my own. It helps me to build character and acceptance of new ideas and knowledge. I was born knowing nothing myself.

If we hads a "closed minded thread" no one could post things any where else

I have always thought you are hijacking a thread when you change the subject or talking about personal matters. for example if you asking about servos and two other guys started talking about how nice a day it was on Baffin Island.

The one exception would be when the original poster's question is answered, or subject is complete to their satisfaction.

Otherwise, simply start a new discussion. It's just not that difficult to be a good 'netizen'.

I vote for a closed discussion forum.

Luckily most of us are adults; opinions notwithstanding.

I was born knowing nothing myself.

We were all born knowing nothing. Unfortunately a lot of people stay that way. They seem to visit Internet Forums all too frequently.

Not that I wish to hijack the thread mind you!

I always felt pretty free to say what I wanted here on RCC weather or not I was in the majority or minority (been in both places).

HIjacking a thread = taking it off the original topic

It has nothing to do with differing opinions. And man, there are a lot of differing opinions here sometimes...

but is it any different anywhere else, either in cyberspace or in real life??
