Seeing that I haven't seen this technique applied to a heli canopy before, I thought I'd give gold leafing a try.

Draw out a tribal image:

Cut, glue, and stick on the gold leaf:

Remove your mask:

Next step is pin striping and clear coating.

I posted a picture of my X-Cell Pro awhile back ( sold it last fall ) so I thought I would post a pick of my other two helis. The big one with the white canopy is my Raptor 60. It has a YS80 and just got the new canopy as well as a new Muscle Pipe II. It also has a few Quick UK upgrades and Thunder Tiger upgrades. I am slowly giving this one some eye candy as it is my baby. It flies really smooth and has been problem free so far. I have not decided on a paint job for the new canopy yet or even tried to find someone to paint it yet. With flying season around the corner I guess I had better get moving on it.

The other one is my Raptor 30 I got in trade for a Hanger 9 P-40 I was selling. It was for the most part new, only partially assembled. Some where it had gotten its frames painted primer gray but I was able to remove the paint. Besides fuel lines and a little more programming for it in my 9Z it is ready to have the engine run for the first time and test flown. I have never owned a 30 size heli so I am looking forward to flying this one.

Lifepak, that is amazing - wow! Very impressive.

How do you think the gold leaf will stand up to time?

(How much would you charge me for something similar? I'm hopeless at paint and I'm still flying around with a plain white canopy! PM me if that's something your willing to entertain....)

Once clear coated, the leaf and the paint should be very well protected.

Unfortunately I won't have the time to do you up a canopy. I'm far from being a professional at this, and the above canopy does have flaws to it. I'm more into just doing it for fun.

A bit "long in tooth" but still sufficient to get my adrenaline flowing...

The first two airborne pics were elevator tic tocs and the last one was just a half flip to inverted, I believe

I'm nervous about having you yelling "LLLlllllloooowwwweeeerrrr" at me while I'm trying to bust off a stationary hover :P
