I've made several transactions through RCCanda's clasifieds, but if I'm buying something large I prefer to pick it up so that I can see the condition of it.

Well thank god i diden't do transaction with this guy Jarret Fischer!, he had Avionca Champ for sale at one time and i contacted him, he said he will only deal with me if i had pay pal account, as i dont have it i diden't do any transaction with this individual mind you he even waited for couple weeks if i would set up account which i diden't, while this was going on i was gaved heads up from fellow RCCer that this guy just changed his ID name on RCC from his initial registard name!, it made me think why he did that and same rccer cautioned me to check out rcgroups on this guy, he have been scamming people on that site and now on our site!, no wonder why he changed his rcc ID soon after registering from his original registard ID...

I feel as Rc modellers we all have faith and respect for each other but that is now going on down line for me as i see many rcc ers have been victomised by this individual! and what i went through too...i feel sorry for you guys, i know that Jason will do whatever he can to help you guys out as he said he would, i would trust on him fully if i was you....

As for buying from a new guy i would suggest contacting few guys in that area or who even had dealt with him by going through his feedback and ask questions from individuals who have dealt with him and also as Jake said if he has been regular on discussion forms of this site with no feedback or low # of feedbacks that would still comfort me, yet its always best to deal in person and also to know what you are getting for your hard earned dollar.

I've made 2 transactions blindly on here. Both of them, I was expecting to lose the money (both of them went through without a hitch!) I've made a couple others, and they were initiated with a PM, then a phone call. If someone is a true modeller, I don't think they would have any problem giving their phone # out to complete a deal. If someone were to refuse to give out their phone # on even a $10 purchase, I'd be really reluctant. Especially if I'm paying the dime.

These crooks are everywhere now, and it really sucks. It leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth, and all we can do, as a "communitee" is try to identify the crooks as quickly as we can to warn others. How long should we wait though?

Perhaps there can be a seperate forum, or at least a stickied thread or something. If someone has a problem with a transaction, and hasn't had word for a week or so (no emails, pms or phone call), the concerned party can politely bring it up.

This would act as a tool for preventing more scams, but it would have to be civil, as sometimes a situation may arise where someone has to delay a shipment through no fault of their own. (sickness or something). The party in question could post responses to concerns if they are legit.

Hopefully this would limit the scam to one person, instead of the multiples that seem to be happening.

I'm not sure if this is doable, or if it would be against the terms of use attached to this site.

I've bought all kinds of stuff from modellers over the internet, including RCCCanada. Couple burps but nothing serious. If I can't get a telephone number to "confirm some of the details" with the vendor, I just won't make a deal.

Legitimate people will give out their phone numbers, addresses etc. No deal is worth losing your money over. Be patient and wait till another one comes alomg, it will.

My policy is "NO TALKY, NO SENDY MONEY". Works for me!!!

Press hard with the authorities and nail this scumb bag. It almost happened to me once, but because I had a phone #, we Talkied, I told him he was busted if the stuff didn't show up, it came. Funny thing, I purchased a lightly used 91 Saito, as per the web ad, and a brand spanking new 91 Saito Golden Knight showed up. He knew I meant business and knew where he was.
