need help getting started

I just bought a trainer with radio, engine and a flight box with most of the stuff needed at the field. I will be joining maac and the guelph gremlins within the next week or two. need someone who lives in the guelph area who can help me go over my plane and check it out make sure everything works the way it should. Also someone I could ask questions, before I even goto the field. I want to goto the field and just learn to fly, while feeling confident that I'm in tip top shape. If anyone can help, then just pm me

Learning to fly

Hi TvGuy,

I think when you join the Guelph Gremlins, you will find they have a training program and will be able to help you out. They are a great bunch of people and I think you will enjoy learning with them.

There is also the Hespeler club and the KW Flying Dutchmen close by. You may want to look up contact information on the MAAC web site.

The KW Flying Dutchmen's field is very close to the Waterloo Farmer's Market (about 1km at the Waterloo Rod and Gun Club) and their training night is Thursday after 6pm. If you show up, we will be pleased to look your plane over for you.

The Dutchmen are very active all mornings between 9 and 12 as well as in the evenings. Weekends are busy as well. We also have scheduled float flying close by.

Read our newsletter at the KW Flying Dutchmen web site for more information.

If we can help you with anything, please let us know, we will gladly do what we can to help out.

help needed

Thanks wayne.

I checked out Hespler, and the gremlins. The gremlins are a bit further from my house, but i like the club better. I know they have a good training program, but I don't have allot of time right now. I am on holidays for quite a while (having a baby(now thats dedication to flying)) the wife is due any day. I want to meet up with someone who can help me tune and setup, so that when I do get to the field I don't have to worry about all that, or I can get through the prep stuff faster and spend more of my limited free time just flying.

Give Ernie a call. I met him a while ago and he seems to know his stuff. He was selling some stuff from an estate sale and was a really nice guy. his contact information is posted on the for sale section of the guelph website.

If ya deadstick three times just stomp on it...It's an easier death!
