Fut 9C: RF G3 controller as a buddy box?

Well, I have this nice new2me Futaba 9C radio. I also have a couple of people I am training.
In moving into the 9C I am trying to eliminate excess gear. So if possible I would like to move to 9C also for training and so need to establish a buddy box system for it.
I have a Hitec Laser6 here that was lightly used for this purpose and to fly my cub. Is there a Hitec-Futaba cord that would work to connect the Laser6 to my 9C for training?
On the other hand, I would actually like to sell off the Laser6. So as an alternative buddy box I do have RealFlight G3. I am wondering if my realflight G3 USB controller can be hooked up to my Futaba 9C to be used as a buddy box at the field. Meaning I want to use the G3 controller as the buddy box. Yes, yes, yes, I know USB cord will not work and I need the trainer cord or a USB to trainer plug adapter. At the moment I do not have a trainer cord to plug the two together to try it. Anyone know if this will even work? Someone have these as well, with a cord, and can go out and test the idea?
