Tune pipe cut and re-route Question

Since Byron set is suppose to shoot out exhaust from tune pipe through fan unit into thrust tube and out of tailcone nozzles, i want to re route this exhaust through cheater hole on the belly instead of thrust tube!, now what i want to know is where can i cut the tune pipe's exhaust tube to give me enough back pressure and i can re route it with blue silicone tube through cheater hole?....I really don't want oil and guoo in the thrust tube and on fan as it will cause oil penetration problems in the aft fuselage structure...

Top picture shows red marks to cut, which location be best?

Single red mark or double red marks...

Hi Sammy, dont cut the pipe stinger as this will effect pipe performance alot.... best to bend pipe stinger into gentle curve upward so as aiming at rear of cheater hole opening then just add silicone exhaust tube extension as required. This is what I used to do with no noticable difference, as the oily mess in the tail chute was a pain to clean....

Looks like your fan and engine mount maybe?? unside down also as the mount leg should be facing top of fuz if memory serves me correct....can you post a pic of the fan and engine install.

Not a Good idea

Cutting a tuned pipe like that royaly screws up the top end performance of the motor. Line the tail end of your plane with some 1/4 oz 'glass cloth and live with the slime, its just part of nitro powered ducted fans. Or you could go electric....

Salutations from the Pacific North WET!

S.P.A.D.s, Fibreglas & Balsa EDF's, Foamies, Brushless powered and nitro balsa planes, they're all in my hanger, just don't explain what it all means to the mrs, eh?
