MAAC Renewal

       Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I just did my maac online and want to go flying tomrrow but the website says allow 3-5 weeks. Can I go flying tomorrow or do I have to wait to get my card. The weather looks so good and I want to go flying!!!!!

I think they will fax you a confirmation if you call the MAAC office. It will cost $5 but it's worth it.

If you can prove your insured (maybe with a CC bill or something) you should be good. I had them email me confirmation when I got mine done in January. As far as I can tell, you are insured from the date you get confirmed, so your card should not be necessary. May depend on the club though. SOme of them want to see a card. I'd be willing to let you fly only if you had a confirmation of some sort. It may be a gbit of a drive for you to come to our field.

I got my card in about 10 days at the beginning of the year.

I disagree. As soon as you pay for it online, you should automatically get a receipt and confirmation.... just like any other merchant on the web. I have always felt that these petty charges are just that - PETTY! I wish MAAC would either upgrade the cart system, or drop the $5.

Oh great are the days when my takeoffs equal my landings!!!
