Just realized you are in Guelph. Like Noin said inquire about shipping into Queenstown NY or Buffalo then go drive and pickup. absolutely NO brokerage charges that way as you will be clearing it yourself at the border. Of course with cost of gas these days the $60.00 round trip may be the same charges as brokerage.

These are T.O.C. models you are talking about right? What size? If it is 33% to 25% box should be OK size for courier.

A quote right from their website:

Orders for parts and aircraft up to 30% are shipped via UPS ground service. Aircraft sizes 33-40% are shipped Forward Air to nearest air terminal. All returns or refunds must be discussed with Aviation Models Team representative. Aviation Models will not share any part of customer's information under any circumstances.
So there you go they can ship to LBPIA (YYZ = Toronto Int'l) via FWD Air if you are going big or UPS to Queenstown/Niagara Falls, NY, 1 hour drive there, 15 minutes in the US and NO brokerage.. only GST & PST on the equivalent CDN$ amount of the aircraft price, not the shipping.

Somebody asked about shipping for another item before and Scaleguy proposed the idea of shipping it to a US depot. Thats where i got the idea, just want to give credit where credit is due.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll check it out. Yes this is the previous TOC1 models company. I'm going to order a 35% Yak. Maybe it would be worth becoming a Canadian dealer so more people can get these.

If you need another hobby, by all means become a Canadian dealer.

Otherwise, forget it and enjoy your present hobby.

Been there. Done that. Ran a shop specializing in giant scale about 15+ years ago.

Had my stock & personal stuff stolen. Wrote off the whole thing and just went back to enjoying flying.

Canadian market is too small a demographic to get excited about for the investments required (money, time, effort, promotion, etc.).

I agree. The US market has way more demand for giant scale. Sounds like alot of effort for small return. If there was a bunch of us that want to purchase planes from them we could see about a group buy.
