As a national not-for-profit that 'operates' in quebec, we are required by law to provide our communications in French. Truth be told, we could be required to translate MUCH more than we do, and as it is the translation we are getting done is essentially by volunteer efforts.

As a matter of fact, what % of the Canadian population cannot read English. What does it cost the country to have all labels in both languages? Lets get out of the dark ages. Mag wouldn't cut cost by half but a good chunk considering what it costs MAAC which is us.
Took me a bit to realize that you weren't trolling or a troll.

Three items keep specifying that Canada is officially bilingual: the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Supreme Court (who think that the first two items are good and generally enforceable.)

Kingston has a pretty fair French population and there are probably a few near you who could discuss this with you (bottles or fists or just words).

Canada is biligual and trying to make it completely one way or the other is like fighte the "Plains of Abraham" best two out of three. English won the first time around but did a deal with the Catholic priests to keep the peace.

If you want unilinguality, move to the UK (oh, sorry, FOUR LANGUAGES) or the US (now becoming TWO languages....)

I'm proudly from the GTA, where there are close to 100 language communities, and I often find myself in one where English is NOT the usual language spoken. What do I do? Be respectful, work around any language barriers, and keep asking myself "What would Jesus do?"

Hey, Don't get me wrong. Grew up with a French Canadian family. One of my ex girlfriends was French Can. as is my brotherinlaw, who happens to be a fellow flier. We're all Canucks. Just looking at it from a practical point of view. All of these people that I know couldn't care less if it was written in French or English.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
