Not using BEC but separate Rx battery pack

I now have to find the note somewhere here about what you have to do when not using the BEC but going with an internal battery pack.

I recall reading that you have to cut the power lead on the ESC cable but doing it with a patch cord. Anyone remember where it is?

Byro: Cut the +'ve lead (the red one) between the ESC and the Rx. I would actually just use a pin extractor and push the pin out of the connector myself, but chopping up an extension is also a good idea.

Mine is not to reason why; I just wire them up to fry...I mean Fly!

That's what I did. Lift the tab, pull the pin, fold it back over itself and tape it. Can be put back in anytime.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
