Inverted saito 80

I have replaced my saito 65 which ran great (inverted 8o'clock) with a saito 80 which has the same dimensions. I can not get the 80 to idle without an on board glow battery. I had to lean it so much without the onboard I could not richen the hi speed because the low speed bar blocked the spray bar. It"s fine with the on board battery which cuts in about 1/2 throttle. Has anyone experienced this or inverted an 80 successfully. If you have what plug are you using? I use omega 15%. My 72 inverted is fine. I have 9 four strokes so I am very familiar with their operation. Thanks in advance for any help.

I run lots of Saitos in all positions, including an inverted 80. and they all run great. Cool Power green 15%. Saito or OSFS plugs

fuel tank center position will make a big difference
looks like yours must be quite high relative to needle valve
mine runs great in a seagull mustang ( inverted )

Hello; I am currently running a Saito 80 inverted in my GB Chipmunk. I use XP 15% 4-stroke fuel and an OS "F" plug. I didn't do anything special to the engine, I didn't even have to touch the needles. I did have to move the fuel tank down a bit to get it properly centred for the carb. I might suggest you try to get the low speed needle back to where it started at, and re-tune the high speed needle before you fine tune the low speed needle again. I haven't seen a Saito that I can't get running properly inverted. Must be that polluted Ontario air.

Throw aways the plug that comes with it. Buy an OSf plug. Open the high valve 2.5 turns and enjoy flying.
As your engine gets some flying time lean the high a bit.

Saito 80

There is a carb upgrade for the Saito 80 that will help your problem.
