PDP

Someone please correct me if if I'm wrong:
PDP stands for Perry Directional Porting.

Back in the days before "schnerule porting",when loop scavenged engines were the norm, Clarence Lee, famed engine guru, would modify K&B engines and Veco engines by adding another "transfer port". This was angled and positioned such as to Direct the fuel mixture to a certain area in the Sleeve and thus giving the engine a better fuel/air mix resulting in more power.

A "loop scavenged"engine has a "baffle" on top of the piston!

I think : HP and HB(Hintenberger) engines had PDP also!

PDP was the forerunner to schnerle ported engines

You are correct. I still have two HB .40s and an HB .60. They are a "tank" of an engine. Not known for their high RPM, but very powerful and dependable. However, I don't think that HB stood for Hurtenburger. That may have been the name associated with the HP engine (Austrian?). Unless mistaken, HB stood for Helmut Bernhardt, the gentleman who originally manufactured the engine in Germany. The engines are still available - the U.S.A. distributor/manufacturer is MECOA.
